The Waukesha County Community Foundation honored The Fotsch Family with the 2022 Celebration of Giving Award, at the organization’s annual Celebration of Giving event on June 28, held at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center in Brookfield, Wis.
The Celebration of Giving Award was established in 2006, to recognize an exemplary donor while also raising awareness of the Waukesha County Community Foundation and the vital importance of philanthropy to the area’s nonprofit organizations.
Geri Fotsch and her son, Tom Fotsch, accepted the award at the event which was attended by fundholders and friends of the Waukesha County Community Foundation. The Fotsch Family’s generosity has made a tremendous impact over the years.
Last fall, through the Fotsch Family Foundation, they offered a $1 million match for gifts to the United for Waukesha Community Fund. The Fund was launched after the Waukesha Christmas Parade attack on November 21, 2021, to provide support to the victims of the tragedy. The Fotsch Family Foundation’s commitment matched all donations to the fund, up to $1 million, for any gift given November 29 through December 4, 2021. The generosity of the Fotsch Family was instrumental in achieving $6.3 million in gifts to the Fund.
Through the years, many organizations have benefited from the Fotsch Family’s philanthropy, as they have granted support to Catholic and educational causes, as well as social services throughout Waukesha and Milwaukee.
“Our community is so fortunate to be home to the Fotsch Family. The impact of their giving extends to the wonderful philanthropic example they set for others. We are thrilled to honor the Fotsch Family and thank them for the incredible difference they continue to make,” said Melissa Baxter, president of the Waukesha County Community Foundation.
