Warming Hearts Through Philanthropy

Homelessness knows no zip code.

The issue of homelessness may be front and center as you drive to work or take a walk around the neighborhood, or it could be hidden in plain sight. Across Waukesha County, individuals and families find themselves without stable housing for a variety of reasons. But no matter how they arrive at instability, one thing is certain: they need support.

After serving on the Housing Action Coalition of Waukesha County (HAC) Board for six years, Joe Pieper and his wife Jennifer sought a way to continue giving back. Together they created a donor designated fund to support HAC and the winter overflow shelter, a building that serves individuals and families experiencing homelessness when the weather turns cold and other shelters reach capacity.

Joe and Jennifer know this fund is more than just financial support—it’s a way to ensure that hope and stability are within reach for those facing housing insecurity. Together, they are committed to ensuring the winter overflow shelter will be able to keep people warm for years to come.
